Yesterday it was veterans under attack again by Trump and Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins - medical care for America's transgender veterans ended by a heartless, uninformed, disrespectful, unscientific VA Secretary who said he "cares" about all veterans even those who are trans-identifying. I call Bulls..t on his 'caring'. It's fake. So much for caring about America's veterans.
Friday last week it was veterans under attack again by Trump and Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins - Collins rescinded VHA Directive 1341(4) and all its previous iterations, a policy that said the VA would treat trans veterans with dignity and respect, that ensured the VA would help trans veterans with medically necessary and appropriate care. So much for caring about America's veterans.
Prior to all that a VA internal memo announced that 80,000+ VA employees would be removed in an effort to restore VA staffing levels to pre-2019, pre-PACT Act, levels. So much for caring about America's veterans.
Trump and his sycophants are also going after,
Social Security, they say they care for elderly Americans. Anyone believe it?
Medicare, they say they care for elderly Americans. Anyone believe it?
Medicaid, they say they care for elderly and disabled Americans. Anyone believe it?
Scientists,
Medical research,
The Postal Service,
Amtrak,
our National Parks,
safety regulations,
environmental regulations,
threaten funding for educational institutions over diversity and inclusion policies and programs,
Anyone surprised by all this?
They have only just begun. Buckle up people. They are not finished.
What's next for the Trump Admin? How do you anticipate what's next when chaos is the modus operandi of Trumpism? For every rule, executive order, policy rescission and change, new policy, think of if as just one step toward where they want to go. Ask yourself what's the next likely step? The next after that and so on. Think about what the second, third, fourth order implications could be. That's where they are headed.
What's the path forward since every day we have another 'Day After' event? Another step?
So far they have us on perpetual defense. Yes! It's important to defend where possible, but at some point we must go on the offensive and pre-emptively anticipate their next move and be ready for that.
