Transgender Americans are under a well-orchestrated and well-funded effort to delete them from civil society.
The buzzword or phrase used by Matt Walsh, Charlie Kirk, Christopher Rufo and many within the Trump administration is that they want a colorblind or minority-blind merit-based society, but people who are honest with themselves know that is a Pollyannaish and reality-denying pipe dream at best. Those same self-reflecting honest people also know that, whether intentional or not, thriving (wealth, health, mental wellness) for minorities is just a little more difficult than for the majority demographic. They can deny this all they want, and we should let them. That's on them. Not us. We are not responsible for them. Stop letting them get into your head (speaking to me as much to you).
Kevin Roberts, President of the Heritage Foundation, is also a big proponent of color/minority blindness, but he takes it a step further. He wants to delete all offending words and phrases he and his fellow Christian nationalists don't like: gender, transgender, gender identity, sexual orientation, LGBTQ+, reproductive rights, bodily autonomy, abortion, etc. For Roberts and his ilk, it's the First Amendment for me but not for thee.
With Trump in the White House, Kevin Roberts and his Project 2025, will see their greatest successes in a generation. They will transform our nation and its governance into a theocratic authoritarian Christian nationalist state. One subordinated to their interpretation of God's word. If you are one of the chosen few who offend their weak sensibilities, you will live only in the shadows of their brave new world. You will be ostracized from "polite" society as it were. You know what I mean, right? All that "Gone with the Wind" fake nostalgia BS and remembering Sherman's March crap. None-ya damn business is not enough anymore. Minorities put back in their place and so forth... yuck!
Roberts, Rufo, Walsh, Trump, and many others in the current administration want to delete and erase minorities from the public square. They are especially triggered by transgender Americans. These blind people blame transgender Americans for all that ails and threatens American masculinity, the traditional family, and the very fabric of modern society. They want their cowboys back. Fine with me, but the moment you try to rope minorities in with your misogyny you will loose. To see proof of what I'm saying, all you need to do is to pick a day, any day will do, turn off your humanity, and watch FoxNews. Their disdain for transgender Americans will be plainly visible. Check it out. Every FoxNews show has something horrible to say about transgender people. All of which is baseless BS designed to enflame their base, but you make it tens times worse if you do not police your own selves. Don't do stupid crap that you know can be weaponized against all minorities.
So how do you as a sexual, racial, or gender minority in this new America move forward? Well, first one needs to understand that words challenging them are wasted. Parading through the streets may build comradery, but it will only be used by those in power to "prove" their points to their audiences. It's their religion (little 'r' religion) you're fighting against. They believe they have the "moral" and "ethical" high ground. Let them. Let them be who they want to be. Let them show you, us, and the world, the depths of their aloofness and the heights of their hubris. Let them be themselves as openly as humanly possible. They will be their own down-fall. Let them believe and say all the vile things against you they want. Eventually, their true nature will be revealed and people will turn against them. But the moment you let them get into your head and you act a fool, they have won. You have lost. We have lost.
Before you get all bent out of shape over my choice of words,.. Yes! There are bad people in the world who want to do transgender Americans harm. Yes! Minority stress (stress caused by the incessant hatefulness and bigotry of others) is real, but whether you know it or not, you do have power and agency over it in your own head.
So how to move forward,... assess who you are, your strengths and weaknesses. Are you the kind of person who blames others for your situation? Do you have the skills to take a step back, re-evaluate yourself, and your situation, and decide that you are not made in your haters image. You have power and agency over your own life. You have power over how you interpret and respond to outside stressors. Why are you letting the ignorance of others live rent free in your head? Stop it already!
So, after some personal reflection and re-assessment, have you decided to kick the squatters out of your head? I have.
