No show tonight - my mom is in the hospital

First, there will be no live show tonight April 15th. Mom was not feeling well and asked to take her to the ER. It’s 4:45 pm EDT now and they’ve decided she needs to spend the night with them.

Well, it’s another day of craziness from the Trump Administration. If you’re like me, none of this comes as a surprise. Who did he attack today: other sovereign nations, transgender Americans, illegal immigrants, transgender Americans, judges, court rulings, transgender Americans, the rule of law, and, oh! Those darn transgender Americans again.

He and his ‘people’ spend more time attacking transgender Americans than any other thing his administration could be dealing with.

And it’s not going to end either. At least not until LGBTQ+ Americans have every right stripped of them and they are relegated to the space under the floorboards of the closet. Trump will do everything in his power to give his fanatical extremes nut jobs what they have been after since the Lavender Scare of the 1950s.

Trump is an authoritarian who follows the fascist playbook letter for letter: identify a minority group to rally anger, resentment, and animosity towards especially if you can persuade people to believe they are a threat to our children; vilify that group at every opportunity; use the legal system to stifle that legal system; ignore or find ways to redefine words in court orders and Supreme Court rulings; play on fears of replacement.

What should transgender Americans do?

Well, it goes without saying that transgender and LGB+ Americans should Prepare for the worse outcome you can imagine? Use the resiliency skills you have learned. If you were in the military, use that training too. Stay strong. Take care of yourself and your families. Then stay connected.

Remember that we do win in the end.
