CALL to ACTION
Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a proposed rule change entitled, "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; Marketplace Integrity and Affordability." This proposed rule will remove gender affirming care from the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Once this is accomplished, nothing will stop Trump and Musk from eliminating the ACA entirely. This goes much further though.
Here's the pdf of the proposed rule change. Search the document for terms you are interested in reviewing.
Arin Waller of LGBTQ Nation says it this way, "The proposed rule change would revoke Section 1557 of the ACA, Section 504 from the Rehabilitation Act and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)."
After this proposed rule change is approved, gender affirming care, gender dysphoria, gender identity disorder (GID), will likely be next on their chopping block. They will likely remove these terms, words, all insurance coverage, and care modalities from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rules and records. In other words, by removing these things from CMS, they incentivize the removal of these services from your private insurance carriers.
So what can we do? And, will what we do have an impact on the proposed rule becoming a rule?
First, we can and should respond to the proposed rule during the comment period which ends on April 11th, 2025. Even though we know that they are going to pass the rule change, we MUST still strongly oppose it by our comments. We can not let the proposed rule change go unchallenged. To fail to comment will show those who want to erase transgender people from the public square that we are not paying attention, that we see them for who they are.
On tonight's show, I will walk through the steps to post your comment on the federal registry site.
But know this too, this proposed rule change will have an impact on ALL Americans, not just the transgender population in the nation.
The Path Forward by my personal example

I hope that you can get some more ideas of how to be mentally strong by what my day looks like. You will notice that there is a recurring theme through out my daily routine too - the focus is not on me, it's on others.
I wake up around 7 AM,
Quickly check the news while laying in bed,
Get up and make my bed,
Wash my face,
Grateful to be here,
Check the weather to determine what to wear as I change from my bed clothes,
Get a caffeinated drink because I'm usually still tired (PTSD w/MST doesn't let me sleep much),
Get the medicines for my mom and my sister, and take them their morning drinks,
Check mom's blood sugar levels, give her insulin shot,
Depending on her blood sugar levels, and after asking her what she wants for breakfast, I will make breakfast for everyone,
Today, I made banana pudding for two or three days of dessert,
Clean up the kitchen and wash the dishes,
Check pantry to see if we need to replenish anything,
Make mom's bed, get dirty clothes to the washer,
Take out the trash,
Start a load of laundry and fold the clothes in the dryer,
Call to check on my 82 year old cousin,
Take some calls,
My sister usually wakes up around noon, so check on her, get her something to eat,
Sometimes, they will want a noon snack too,
Help my brother around his home and in his shop, who has severe COPD and who is getting weaker by the day,
Work on my show material, national news, and my thoughts for the day,
Start planning for evening meal,
Serve meal around 5 PM,
Show starts at 6 PM,
Check mom's blood sugar around 7:15 PM, give her an insulin shot,
Take evening medicine to my sister,
watch a show or movie on Netflix or Amazon Prime
go to bed around 11:30 or so,
Start over the next day.
So as you can see, there's very little time to be sorry for myself, for negativity, or dwell on who I am. I know who I am. I know I am enough and that I do not need to be fixed. I don't worry about pronouns or names used. I simply don't have time for it. I keep my hands and my mind busy doing beneficial things for my family here in eastern Kentucky, and try to live by example for our broader nation and our specific community.
Catch up on the news and my opinions on tonight's show.

In solidarity and strength,
