America's Transgender Veterans Abandoned by Trump and the VA

Stay strong veterans, my friends. We will get through this together. America's Transgender Veterans and Active Duty personnel are strong, resilient, and dedicated to defending the Constitution against all threats, foreign and domestic. We are accomplished, caring, respectful people.

Yesterday, Friday 14 March 2025, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) rescinded Directive 1341 and all it's revisions. 1341. The directive provided for respectful and dignified care for our nation's transgender veterans. It gave guidance on how the VA and all it's facilities and staff were to provide gender-affirming medically necessary care to these veterans across the whole of the VA.
VHA Directive 1341 is gone.
It is not yet known how this rescission will affect gender affirming hormone therapy. However, I do know of a transgender veteran who was receiving in-patient care at the Mountain City TN facility was told to be at the facility each day, but that she would not be housed in the women's unit. They told her she would be considered in-patient, but at home.
